Motivation is the key to engaging boys into writing. If they are not interested in the writing then they will not put the effort into it. When you can hook them into interesting ways and experiences in writing the effort and engagement will follow. I have design a real context in which the learners can hook into. Giving choice, independence and a challenging purpose will provide the motivation.
I will compare the piece of writing at the end of this small unit to the writing from previous sessions to see the difference and gather learner voice around the experience.
